Joanna Noëlle Blagden Levesque (born December 20, 1990), professionally known as JoJo, is an American R&B and pop singer-songwriter, dancer, and actress
She rose to fame after releasing her self-titled debut album, JoJo (album), which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Hot 200, with sales of 95,000 copies.
She also has a film career. She starred in two 2006 Hollywood films, Aquamarine and RV. In 2008 she has filmed a new movie, True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.
JoJo was born in Brattleboro, Vermont, and raised in Keene, New Hampshire and Foxborough, Massachusetts. She has Irish, Polish, French, and Native
American ancestry. She grew up in a one-bedroom apartment in Foxborough, in a low-income family. Her father sings as a hobby, her mother sang in a
Catholic church choir and was trained in musical theater. Her parents divorced when she was three.

- JoJo was home schooled for three years, has stated that “school was definitely a big part of my life”. She performs well academically, receiving marks in the As and Bs.
- On February 28, 2007, she was ranked at number ten in the list of Forbes top twenty earners under 25 with an annual earning of $1 million.
- Likes to wear urban wear clothes such as Abercrombie, Baby Phat, Rocawear, and Ecko Red.
- Is French, Irish, American Indian and Polish.
- Wrote three songs on her debut album Jojo.
- Was offered a record deal at the age of 6 but her mother turned it down because of her age. Later on, she competed in America’s Most Talented Kids, but lost to Diana DeGarmo. However, competing in America’s Most Talented Kids landed her a record deal.
- Is the youngest solo artist to have a number 1 song in America.
- When growing up she listened to Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and *NSYNC.
- She is a huge Red Sox fan.
