Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem, Israel on June 9, 1981. When she was three years old, she and her family moved to the United States.
Jerusalem is closest to Natalies heart, but she has said she also really loves the States.
Natalie attended a jewish elementary school in New York – altough she says her family is not religious. She graduated from Syosset High School in New York.
In 2003 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pshycology at Hardvard.
Portman speaks both English and Hebrew, and has studied French, Japanese, German and Arabic.
Natalie Portman is a vegetarian and is strongly involved in animal rights and enviromental causes.
When she was ten, Revlon asked her to become a child model. She turned down the offer to focus on acting.
Her first role came in 1994 in the film Léon.
